They're boring!

I don't know why Mailboxes here in the Philippines are so boring. Never in my whole life have I seen a funky mailbox such as this:

The ones that I always see are just plain boxes with holes painted same color as the gate. They would always go unnoticed that is why the postman often leaves or inserts the letters in the gate or beneath the door.
