Here in the US, you would rarely see security guards patrolling in stores and other business establishments. They all rely on security cameras. That's what we noticed the first few weeks we arrived here. And it's something we find really amazing because from where we came from, businesses cannot survive without these men in uniform. But anyway, there's no point comparing. Crimes of all sorts abound in the Philippines and that's a fact. Even with a 24-hour security personnel and cameras, business establishments still get robbed. Our law enforcement really sucks. But what can you expect? Even those involved in big crimes such as the Maguindanao Massacre were absolved from their cases. So what more with the petty criminals. It's easy for them to get away with their crimes. :(
