With the PS2, gaming is never the same. You get to use a chainsaw controller for Resident Evil, a GunCon, a fishing rod controller, a dance pad for DDRMAX2, an EyeToy, a Konami microphone, a Katana controller for Onimusha 3 and a number of other devices which can turn your gaming into a wildfire experience and you would never want to stop. If you thought the ordinary mouse and the keyboard would have just been fine, think again, because when playing PS2 games, you do need the chainsaw controller or the Katana to match the heavy duty action that will rock you.
Sony released PlayStation 2 in the dawn of the 21st century, becoming the first sixth generation video game to capture the video game market. The PS2 is the successor of the earlier PlayStation. To date, over 141 million units of PS2 have been sold worldwide, and still remains in demand. Players devoted to the Sony style run in the millions, and while a number of them have upgraded to the seventh generation release by Sony, the majority still remains comfortable with the PS2 machine. In the far Eastern countries, such as Japan and Korea, the PS2 remains the primary choice among gaming consoles, with many cyber cafes and games having hundreds of PS2 machines linked up with each other to meet the demand for LAN and online gaming.
The Final Fantasy Series of PS2 games were a smashing hit, stealing many prestigious awards for itself, including Best Game, Best Looking Game, and spots in numerous Top 10 lists. Other popular games of PS2 are Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, SSX 3, Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec, Madden NFL 2005, Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, Dance Dance Revolution: DDRMAX2, God of War, Jak II and many more.
