Education: a right or a privilege?

In the present world that we live in, we cannot help but think that education is no longer a right but a privilege. If you are poor then most likely you cannot finish schooling because of the soaring tuition fee rates. But in my case, I didn't let the lack of funds hinder me from reaching my dreams. Not that we are poor, but my family is always experiencing financial crisis due to the fact that all four of us are schooling and there's only one breadwinner in the family. To do my share, I studied hard to maintain my grades so I can avail of academic scholarships. I also worked as a student assistant to earn some extra money for my school projects. student loans were a big help. That was how I worked my way through college. It wasn't easy and it made me feel less privileged but I never treated it as a hindrance. Instead it inspired me to do better and to pursue my dreams no matter what.
